Celebrate Recovery

at Union Chapel

What is Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, anonymous, twelve step program for recovery from hurts, habit, and hang-ups. Ultimately Celebrate Recovery is a place to call home even when the rest of the world seems to be pushing you away, a place to abide in the love and grace of the Almighty.

While Celebrate Recovery is similar to other anonymous recovery programs, it differs from others as we agree that the one true higher power is the one true God. Our higher power is Jesus Christ. It is through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ, the truest expression of God's grace, that we find our true recovery.

We begin each Tuesday Night meeting with a fellowship meal. During this time we rejoice in the blessings which God has provided for us in the gifts of sustenance and fellowship.

After dinner we have a time of worship together. This worship includes contemporary praise music and a time to pray and rejoice together as chips are given to those who have been working on their recovery. During this worship service, we also receive a prepared message based upon the Celebrate Recovery curriculum, which presents scripture and a relationship with God as the way to recovery or we are blessed with a testimony from someone who has been through the Celebrate Recovery program and seen the benefits in their life.

After worship we have small groups. Small groups provide a safe environment to share struggles and triumphs with others who are also seeking recovery. Small groups are separated by gender to help maintain anonymity, safety, and focus.

Celebrate Recovery is not a substitute for medical intervention. We can support you through whatever journey you are being lead by the Almighty, but we firmly believe that God uses medical professionals to help us treat the symptoms of our illnesses. We would be honored to be your support system, but we cannot be your medicine. Just as we cannot be your higher power.
