Information For Sunday Morning Visitors
At Union Chapel we have a service of blended styles. While our music is lead by a praise band, we sing hymns, southern gospel classics, and your favorite contemporary Christian praise songs.
We hope that you will feel comfortable wearing whatever you want to when worshipping with us. There is certainly no dress code for worshipping God! If you are worried about feeling over dressed or under dressed here are a couple of casual observations (pardon the pun). While there might be a few t-shirts around the sanctuary on Sunday morning, most males tend to wear collared shirts. Blue jeans and tennis-shoes are just as common as slacks and dress shoes. Many of the ladies dress in business casual attire. A blouse and pants (blue jeans or other) is typical. There are no expectations for dress at Union Chapel. Please come however you are most comfortable!
The Communion Table
In the United Methodist Church tradition, the Communion Table is open to anyone and everyone. If you are visiting with us on a morning that we celebrate communion, we hope that you will join us in celebrating our unity and redemption in Christ through the sacrament of Holy Communion, but will not pressure you to do so.
Physical Response to The Spirit's Guidance
We hope that everyone will feel comfortable responding to the Holy Spirit's movement in worship as they feel called. It is not uncommon to see raised hands or hear a few "Amens" during worship at Union Chapel. All responses to the Holy Spirit are welcomed and celebrated.
Hugs and Handshakes
We are a family oriented church, who love to give hugs, handshakes, and words of affirmation. If you are not comfortable with hugs or handshakes, simply let us know and we will be glad to stick to the words of affirmation. We understand that physical contact is not affirming for everyone, and want to share the love of God with you in ways that foster your own spiritual growth.
Above all we want to be a part of you connecting with the Almighty God of life and love.
We seek to be a safe place to abide in the love and grace of God. All are welcome to His table. All are welcome. Whether you are looking for a home church to join and grow with, a place to visit for an hour of worship, a shoulder to cry on, a group to rejoice with, or somewhere in between we welcome you to do so with Union Chapel United Methodist.
